Some sad news to report. My beautiful mother is fine, but lost everything in a tragic fire this weekend. The fire destroyed her apartment in Hobart, Ind. late Sunday. Luckily, residents of the building began pounding on doors to evacuate the building around 10 p.m. and my mother escaped the fire without much harm - physically.
Although she watched on as firefighters sprayed the building and everything she owned collapsed in front of her. She did not have renter’s insurance and has to start from scratch after occupying the same home for more than 16 years.
It’s the things we often take for granted she will miss most. She’s concerned with the poems I wrote to her when I was a child, my baby pictures, the scrapbook she was making for my upcoming wedding – things that can’t be replaced.
She literally has nothing left, but I’m hoping to show her how wealthy she really is with lots of love and support. That’s why I need your help. Any contribution you could make would be greatly appreciated. Just click on the "donate" icon above to be directed to PayPal.
Thank you.
